Dentist

1.    Meet with patients to examine teeth, gums, and related tissues using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment to evaluate dental health2.    Diagnose and treat dental diseases, injuries, malformations, and abnormalities, and establish a plan for better dental hygiene3.    Analyze and evaluate dental needs to determine changes and trends in patterns of dental malformations and abnormalities4.    Design, make, or fit prosthodontic appliances, such as space maintainers, bridges, or dentures, and perform crowns, inlays and outlays, and filling cavities5.    Prescribe medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics and administer sedatives or anesthesia to patients prior to carrying out treatments6.    Eliminate irritating margins of fillings and correct occlusions, using dental instruments while applying helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants or whiteners7.    Order advanced diagnostic measures, such as x-rays and models while using dental instruments such as drills, probes, brushes, and mirrors to examine and treat teeth and mouth8.    Maintain and analyze records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them9.    Advise and instruct patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, or oral health care services10.     Communicate with other professional staff members to provide care to patients A Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree, Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry Degree, or Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree is required (A foreign educational equivalent is acceptable).  A valid State of Indiana Dental License and valid State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration License are also required. The place of employment is at Valley Professionals Community Health Center Inc., 1792 East State Road 163, Clinton, Indiana 47842. This Dentist position requires domestic travel two days per month to the additional Valley Professionals Community Health Center Inc. medical health facility at 1702 Lafayette Road, Crawfordsville, Indiana 47933 (Montgomery County) to carry out the job duties of this Dentist position.
